Snow Peaks & Starry Nights: Our 5-Day Winter Escape to Arizona Snowbowl

Day 1: Arrival and Settle In

Our journey began as we checked into our inviting RV at Fort Tuthill County Campground, strategically located just a short drive from the snowy slopes of Snowbowl and the vibrant city of Flagstaff. After settling into our temporary home, we explored downtown Flagstaff, enjoying a delightful dinner at Brix Restaurant and Wine Bar and browsing local shops along the historic streets.

Day 2: Hit the Slopes

We started our day with a quick breakfast before heading to Arizona Snowbowl, where we spent the day tearing down the well-groomed trails on skis and snowboards. After a few hours of adrenaline-pumping fun, we enjoyed a relaxing après-ski drink at Agassiz Lodge & Restaurant, right on the mountainside, offering stunning views and a cozy atmosphere. The evening was spent back at our RV, where we enjoyed a homemade dinner and a competitive night of board games.

Day 3: Explore the Forest

The next morning was dedicated to hiking through the picturesque trails surrounding Snowbowl. Coconino National Forest provided breathtaking landscapes and a peaceful escape into nature. Post-hike, we visited Mother Road Brewing Company for an enjoyable tour and tasting session, sampling some of Flagstaff’s finest brews. The night ended with us gathered around a campfire at our campground, roasting marshmallows and stargazing.

Day 4: Snow Tubing Fun

Day four was all about snow tubing at Snowbowl’s dedicated tubing area, a perfect activity for families and thrill-seekers alike. After hours of laughter and snow-packed excitement, we unwound at the nearby Flagstaff Hot Springs where we soaked our tired muscles in soothing, natural waters. The evening was quiet and cozy, spent in the warmth of our RV’s fireplace, enjoying a movie night.

Day 5: Farewell to the Snow

On our final day, we took a scenic drive through the mountains, enjoying the serene landscapes one last time. Before heading home, we stopped at Flagstaff Urban Market, where we picked up locally-made artisan goods and fresh produce as souvenirs of our memorable trip. As we drove home, we were already reminiscing about our adventures and planning our next winter getaway.

This five-day escape to Arizona Snowbowl was an enriching mix of adventure, relaxation, and local culture, offering something special for every member of the family. Whether you’re skiing down the slopes, exploring scenic trails, or relaxing in natural hot springs, Snowbowl provides the perfect backdrop for a winter escape.
